This incredible estate is found in the affluent area of Belgrano, a perfect place, where action and relaxation meet. At walking distance you will find the subway station (Congreso de Tucuman), Cabildo Avenue and River Plate Stadium, though you will not feel the ?Rush? of a croweded city, quite contrary, you will find yourself feeling the streets of a lovely community where tradition, good neighbors and an essence of well being is always present on the faces of those how smile at you and give you their best ?good morning?, well manners of an old town where everybody greets you.
Everything is at hand, you will not need a car!!!! A bakery shop, laundry services, a pizza delivery and two grocery stores are less than ½ a block away from your door.There are many public transports at close by though if you do not want to walk as much but want to explore, you can take the subway station which will take you many places including 9 de Julio Avenue, where the Obelisco is located, or many of buse lines which are right in Cabildo Avenue. At just 3 blocks there is a nice park and at 10 blocks you will find Buenos Aires? China Town, Sarmiento?s Museum(important general in Argentina?s independance), as well as La Plaza del Angel, where you will find high class shops(Christian Dior, Prune, Lacoste, New Man, ecc.) and coffe shops.
The house is an original design from the 1920?s made by the firm Cechini that was very popular at the time.
Throughout the house you will find the nicest finishes that evoque the best construction that was available at the begining of the century. Pinotea wood flooring and cedar wood for all windows and doors plague the house, and of course high cealings that are no longer seen in new constructions. The house is full of nice details, some new, some old. In 2008, when we bought the property, we fully remodeled it bringing it to the ?american comfort? level that we are acustomed to. We upgraded the house without damaging its antique essence, reviving its original architecture and details.
Our house can sleep 6 to 14 depending on what you?re needs are, it is three stories high, has 6 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. All rooms are fully furbished.
On the first floor you will find two rooms, one with a king size bed the other with a queen bed, a high end modern bathroom, a formal french style seating area, a non-formal TV leaving room with a sofa that can also be turned into a king size bed, and a 10 seating formal dining room with an open plan gourmet-professional kitchen with all apliances and gadgets you will need or maybe not.
On the second floor there are 4 bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms with antique legged bathtubs, one with a king size bed and walk-in closet, the other 3 with queen size beds.
The open terrace is on the third floor, it has a magnificent argentinian parrilla (barbecue), laundry room and a secondary bathroom.
The first two floors are connected by an amazing hand made cedar wood staircase or if you preffer you can just lay back and use the elevator that connects all of the house?s floors.
This is an incredible property, which you would be insane to miss, a truley unique way to experience Buenos Aires.
